 2 WINERIES
  • Domaine Emile Balland

Émile Balland, an agricultural engineer and oenologist, patiently continues the construction of his domain started in 1999. Domaine Balland is divided between Côteaux du Giennois and Sancerre. The Balland are winemakers from father to son in Bué (Sancerre), since 1650. Sauvignon Blanc is the only grape used for the production of white wine and the malo-lactic fermentation never occurs to keep the maximum of freshness.
Emile Balland produces modern, fresh, and clean-cut wines from his established estate. A new star has born.

  • Domaine Lucien Crochet

Domaine Lucien Crochet stems from the fusion of the winegrowing estates of André Crochet (Lucien’s father) and Lucien Picard (his father-in-law). this estate is now under the direction of Lucien’s son Gilles. Here the wines are less rustic but more tender and delicate. The vinification is done in stainless steel to keep the maximum of freshness and clarity. The malolactic fermentation never occurs.
Gilles Crochet’s red wines are exceptional, they are made in classic Burgundian style with extended cuvaison and malolactic fermentation occurring in barrels.
