Domaine des Nugues is located in the northern Beaujolais, surrounded by the Crus of Fleurie, Morgon, and Moulin à vent. This 36 hectares estate is in the Gellin family for three générations. Gérard and Gilles, his son cultivate the old vines of Gamay and Chardonnay to produce the best expression of terroir. The average age of vines is 45 years old and some vines are 100 years old more.
Gilles Gellin makes his wines with lots of character and also good structure.
Domaine de Fa is a new venture from Graillot Brothers. Antoine and Maxime Graillot, famous winemakers of Crozes-Hermitage, took over, in 2013, 5 ha of Beaujolais, very stony slopes on granite. The whole vineyard is biodynamic. In parallel, they acquired 3 ha of vineyards called Roche Guillon, north of the Fleurie, near the terroir of Poncié.
The wines are vinified in whole bunch, in concrete vat and aged in big wooden cask (30hl).
